Skills for Care renews endorsement of First Response Training

National training provider First Response Training (FRT) has once again been named as an Endorsed Learning Provider by Skills for Care.

First Response Training is a Skills for Care Endorsed Learning ProviderFRT, which has been delivering health and social care training across the UK for over 25 years, has been recognised as an Endorsed Learning Provider by Skills for Care since 2020. The endorsed provider status covers their classroom, webinar and eLearning training programmes for the adult social care sector.

Skills for Care is an independent charity and delivery partner for the Department for Health and Social Care (DHSC) and supports employers to develop best practice in the adult social care industry. Learning providers undergo a rigorous endorsement process to become recognised for their health and social care training programmes and feature on Skills for Care’s exclusive endorsed provider directory.

The stamp of approval – which means that FRT is recognised as one of the leading adult social care learning and development providers in the country – is renewed annually, with providers required to provide additional information and evidence to show how they have progressed against the original endorsement standards in order to retain the badge.

First Response Training has been a Skills for Care Endorsed Learning Provider since 2020Skills for Care states that “to become endorsed [a provider] must be able to clearly evidence that the training delivered makes a significant difference, not only to the learner but also to the person accessing care and support.”

The renewal of FRT’s endorsements means that they will be recognised and listed on the Endorsed Provider Directory until March 2025. After this date, Skills for Care are planning to close the current endorsement process and will be working with the DHSC as they launch their new Targeted Upskilling Fund and a new accompanying endorsement process for providers.

They have stated: “Skills for Care is committed to continuing our work with learning providers and maintaining the relationships we’ve built with our existing endorsed providers.”

Leon Williams, Lead Director at FRT, explained:

“I am proud that we have been able to retain our endorsed provider status. It demonstrates our refusal to become complacent and that we have, as ever, continued striving for excellence.

“As Skills for Care transitions away from the current Endorsed Provider Directory to support the DHSC with the Targeted Upskilling Fund and new process for endorsement, we look forward to learning more and to hopefully also obtaining this badge in the future. Our main focus is always on providing high quality training that meets the needs of the care organisations we work with, their staff and the people they support.

“However organisations access training from us, they can be assured that is of the highest quality and will make a meaningful difference to their staff and the people receiving their care and support.”
