Skills for Care have launched their new campaign to support managers in care.
The national care workforce development charity will be running the ‘Managing your service’ campaign throughout March to support registered managers, nominated individuals and care organisation directors to manage their services effectively.
The campaign has been devised to empower leaders and managers in care by equipping them with the tools, guidance and insights to run care services more effectively and navigate complex and challenging aspects of the job, such as leadership, compliance and daily operations.
It will focus on managing people, resources and service performance.
Effective managers in care boost staff retention and care standards
Skills for Care say that, in order to be effective, leaders and managers in care need to be “skilled and compassionate,” with the right leadership positively shaping the culture of a care setting. They add that the provision of high-quality, person-centred care “relies on well-led organisations,” so effective management is crucial.
In fact, the latest data from Skills for Care’s Adult Social Care Workforce Data Set (ASC-WDS) shows that stable leadership is a key factor in improving staff retention and Care Quality Commission (CQC) performance ratings.
Effective managers in care create positive working environments with engaged, motivated staff, and implement impactful changes to improve care standards.
Campaign provides valuable resources for managers in care
This March, Skills for Care will therefore be publishing expert blogs, articles and real-life case studies across its website and social media channels to provide leaders and managers in care with best practice guidance.
The ‘Managing your service’ campaign will also signpost leaders to further resources and projects to support them in managing their services effectively.
You can follow all the information and articles on social media using #ManagingYourService.
